What is the role?
We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our team. As part of the role, the engineer will be responsible for managing security programme and defining security standards, seeing them implemented in our applications and infrastructure, managing security operations, and reporting on the security risks and compliance. The ideal candidate should have mid-level experience in security operations, systems design and compliance roles. As this role is relatively broad, the candidate should be a self-starter and keen learner, interested in gaining experience across a broad interdisciplinary applied field.
In this role you will:
- Manage the organisation’s security programme
- Define and manage security standards and procedures
- Preform applications and infrastructure design and code security reviews, direct office infrastructure security
- Manage and perform security monitoring and potentially carry out forensic analysis to detect security incidents
- Continuously improve security operations through automation and process refinements
- Conduct staff security trainings
- Work with our risk and compliance functions to proactively manage security risks and report on them
- Conduct security testing independently and with externally sourced vendors
What you should have?
- BSc/MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of proven background in the infosec operations, systems design or compliance
- Interest and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies
- Strong understanding of cyber-threats
- Experience with threat modelling, design analysis, and risk assessment
- Ability to understand software development and the security
- Understanding of cloud-based services and concepts, along with technical knowledge and experience in networks, operating systems, web, AWS/cloud-based services
- Knowledge of OWASP
- Ability to explain problems to different audiences – practice skills in the art of communication
- Experience using scripting languages
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland
- Must be based in Dublin and available for work from the office
It would be great if you could offer some of:
- Knowledge of secure mobile development, PCI DSS, GDPR
- Knowledge of NIST, COBIT or other security frameworks
- Knowledge of Office 365 security
- Experience administrating Linux servers
- Experience with the Elastic Stack
